What is Optimum Nutrition?

momosOptimum nutrition is about having control over your health by nurturing your mind, body and spirit as a whole unit.  Doing this enables your body to function properly on its own for a long and healthy life, as it should be. To reach optimum nutrition, it is important to learn your body’s own uniqueness and to listen to and understand your body’s messages and cues. Nurturing your body on a daily basis by eating nutrient-dense foods is essential for excellent health.

Eating wholesome foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes, whole grains and meats from animals free of hormones and/or pesticides that are organic and locally grown will nourish your body with an abundance of vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals. Locally farmed, grassfed meat, hormone-free dairy and free-roaming, pastured fowl and eggs are extremely beneficial for receiving the body’s protein needs and certain vitamins and nutrients that are only found among these foods.

In addition to a proper diet, it is important to nurture your mind and soul by learning new things, socializing, exercising, meditating and doing other activities that you enjoy and bring you happiness.  Reducing stress in your life is vital for optimum health.  Stress can be very damaging to the body as a whole in numerous ways.  Exercise is an excellent way to reduce stress.  Optimum nutrition is about living a long life free of pain and illness; being happy and healthy; being in a positive state of mind and just feeling good about yourself and the life that you lead.
